About the owner: I grew up in Charleston SC on the Atlantic Coast, so I knew nothing about the Great Lakes. It was not until I'd been married for 6 years that I finally agreed to go to 'the Lake.' Needless to say I fell in love with the area and have come back every summer since then. My husband has been coming to Leland with his family since he was a young boy in 1952.
Why Leland: Locals describe Leland as 'The Land of Delight.' Both sets of grandparents in my husband's family started coming here in the 1930's and started a multi-generational experience that we hope to see continue for many more generations.
The Unique Benefits: This area of Michigan was voted in 2011 as the most beautiful place in the USA in a Good Morning America poll. The cool summers, fabulous lakes, cherry and peach orchards, and vineyards contribute to the unique flavor of the area.
